Worked on the NixOS/nix repository to enhance the reliability and maintainability of the Git fetching logic, specifically addressing issues related to Git LFS cloning. Focused on correcting a critical bug that previously risked fetching incorrect LFS objects, the work involved refactoring error messages and inline comments for greater clarity and updating a test case to accurately reflect observed LFS cloning behavior. Integrated review feedback to ensure robust, test-driven improvements. Utilized C++ and Nix, applying skills in code review, refactoring, and testing. These changes reduced debugging time and improved the developer experience when cloning large repositories with Git LFS.
