During March 2025, Kylee Weener developed foundational AI capabilities for the UCF-ELLE/ELLE-Website-API repository, focusing on scalable, conversational user interactions. Kylee implemented an LLM-powered chat and API infrastructure using Python, FastAPI, and Transformers, enabling the website to load and interact with a large language model. The work included modular Python components for chat services, configuration, and LLM functions, supporting maintainability and reuse. API endpoints were defined for text generation and conversation logging, allowing for interaction monitoring and metrics. A persona-based configuration system was introduced to guide LLM behavior, ensuring consistent user experiences and laying groundwork for future conversational features.
