Worked on security and reliability improvements in the grafana/mcp-grafana repository, focusing on backend development and database management using Go and SQL. Addressed a critical bug by implementing strict validation for ClickHouse identifiers, ensuring only allowed characters and non-empty names are accepted for database and table identifiers. This approach mitigated the risk of SQL injection attacks and reduced potential misconfigurations. Developed targeted unit tests to verify the robustness of the validation logic, including checks against common SQL injection patterns. Consolidated these changes into a single, well-documented commit, emphasizing a methodical approach to enhancing both security and code maintainability.
