Worked on the open-webui/open-webui repository to enhance search functionality and improve domain filtering reliability. Developed a new optional filter_list parameter for the search_tavily function, enabling users to refine search results with greater precision. Addressed a bug in tavily.py that previously caused domain filter lists to behave incorrectly, ensuring accurate and efficient filtering. All changes were implemented in Python, with a focus on backend development and robust data handling. Maintained clear commit messages and collaborated with QA to ensure safe integration into the main branch, resulting in a focused and traceable change set that supports faster reviews and stable deployments.
