Worked on the kgateway-dev/kgateway repository to deliver a new feature enabling the ExtProcProvider to support requestAttributes configuration, allowing Envoy attribute expressions for external processing. This involved updating the API definition, implementing deep copy logic, and extending the translation pathway for the ExtProc filter to recognize the new configuration. The work included modifications to Helm CRD templates and deployment manifests, ensuring seamless Helm-based rollouts. Expanded test coverage validated the new configuration and runtime behavior. The project demonstrated backend development skills with Go, Helm, and Kubernetes CRDs, enhancing configurability and deployment safety for customer-specific Envoy processing pipelines without code changes.
