Worked on the Aryakoste/mattermost repository to enhance the user interface by improving emoticon rendering quality. Focused on refining the CSS responsible for resizing emoticons, the approach prioritized using the transform: scale property with a fallback to zoom, ensuring better fidelity and consistent appearance across major browsers. This targeted refactor addressed potential UI inconsistencies and aligned with product design requirements. The work involved front-end development using CSS and JavaScript, with careful validation across different browser environments. Over the course of the month, delivered a single, high-impact feature that improved cross-browser compatibility and contributed to a more polished user experience.
