Worked on updating the MSI-EC kernel module within the srid/nixpkgs repository, focusing on improving build reliability and hardware support. The effort involved upgrading the module to a newer unstable release, introducing a dedicated Makefile patch, and refining kernel version compatibility to ensure smoother integration with evolving kernel versions. Emphasized build system configuration and kernel module development using Nix, with careful attention to release maintenance and patch process enhancements. This work established a more robust foundation for future updates, reducing downstream risk and streamlining the update process for the MSI-EC module, while maintaining alignment with upstream changes and project requirements.
