During January 2025, Gymay Ong focused on enhancing SEO for the ourongxing/newsnow repository by implementing a comprehensive set of features aimed at improving organic search visibility and indexing. Gymay introduced detailed meta tags and integrated Schema.org NewsArticle structured data to optimize how news articles appear in search results. Additionally, Gymay generated a sitemap.xml to facilitate more efficient crawling and faster indexing by search engines. The work was completed in a single, cohesive commit and leveraged skills in React, JavaScript, and front end web development. This targeted engineering effort addressed discoverability and search ranking for the project’s news content.
