Worked on enhancing UI accessibility in the Skyscanner/backpack repository by improving the visibility and contrast of floating notifications and information banners. Focused on updating text colors to increase legibility, the developer aligned these changes with existing design tokens to maintain consistency across components. Using CSS, SCSS, and front end development skills, they performed local UI quality assurance and visual checks to verify readability improvements and prevent regressions. The update was documented for NO-JIRA tracking and prepared for broader rollout, ensuring adherence to accessibility guidelines. This work addressed a critical aspect of user experience by refining notification component clarity and usability.
