Matty developed a RegEx-powered find-and-replace feature for transaction notes in the actualbudget/actual repository, focusing on enhancing editing efficiency and data quality. Leveraging React and Redux with both JavaScript and TypeScript, Matty integrated the new functionality directly into the notes editing modal, introducing a dedicated mode for find-and-replace and refining the user interface for a more consistent experience. The work included optimizing input space and aligning mode buttons to improve usability. Matty also ensured release readiness by updating release notes, maintaining visual regression test screenshots, and performing quality checks, demonstrating a thorough approach to feature delivery within a short timeframe.
