Worked on enhancing the local development environment for the CMSgov/bcda-app repository, focusing on streamlining the onboarding process and reducing setup-related issues. Addressed obstacles by increasing the Makefile timeout for API and SSAS fixture loading, which improved reliability during local builds. Updated documentation by removing an outdated Docker service reference from the README to better reflect the current build and test environment. Utilized Shell scripting and applied build automation and DevOps practices to implement these changes. The work aimed to accelerate feature iteration by minimizing setup failures and aligning the development workflow with the evolving needs of the engineering team.
