Worked on the awslabs/iot-app-kit repository to align the Scene Hierarchy component’s UI with AWS design system standards. Refactored the component’s styling using SCSS and TypeScript, integrating AWS UI design tokens to update color palettes and interactive states for improved visual consistency. Focused on stabilizing the UI by cleaning up the scene hierarchy, reducing visual drift, and establishing a maintainable code structure. This design-token-driven approach laid the groundwork for future theming and scalable UI enhancements. The work emphasized maintainability and collaboration, making future iterations and onboarding more straightforward while ensuring the application’s interface remains consistent and easier to extend.
