Developed UART backend support for the 1-Wire bus in the espressif/idf-extra-components repository, enabling UART-based communication alongside the existing RMT backend to broaden hardware compatibility. The work involved implementing new C source files, updating configuration options, and maintaining thorough documentation in Markdown. In the espressif/esp-bsp repository, introduced a configurable UART backend for the DS18B20 temperature sensor and added robust error handling for power-on state initialization, preventing silent malfunctions. Codebase and example updates improved developer onboarding and usage scenarios. Throughout, applied skills in C programming, embedded systems, hardware interfacing, and version control to enhance platform flexibility and reliability.
