Developed SSH terminal desktop notifications for the charmbracelet/crush repository, enabling real-time alerts within remote terminal sessions. The feature leveraged Go to implement OSC 99 and OSC 777 protocols, allowing notifications to be delivered directly to users’ desktops during SSH connections. By incorporating terminal capability detection, the solution dynamically adjusted notification delivery based on the environment, ensuring compatibility across a range of terminal emulators. This backend development effort focused on enhancing notification systems and terminal programming, ultimately improving user responsiveness and reducing missed events in terminal-based workflows. The work addressed the need for proactive alerts in remote development scenarios.
