Developed the NGEP Maintenance Window Entity within the newrelic/entity-definitions repository, focusing on formalizing maintenance event tracking for improved operational management. Leveraging YAML for entity definition, the work introduced a new entity type that supports manual expiration, enabling precise lifecycle control of maintenance windows. Alerting was intentionally disabled for these events to reduce unnecessary notifications and minimize alert fatigue during scheduled maintenance periods. This approach established a foundational structure for future automation and governance of maintenance-related activities. The contribution centered on entity definition and configuration, laying essential groundwork for safer scheduling and more controlled event management without addressing bug fixes this period.
