Worked on the penpot/penpot repository to address a critical user experience issue in center-origin shape drawing. Focused on aligning the Alt/Option key behavior with industry-standard tools, the developer implemented a Clojure-based solution that mirrors the initial click to the shape center when the modifier key is pressed. This adjustment improved drawing accuracy and consistency with resizing transforms, reducing misdraws and enhancing team workflows. The work involved updating input stream detection from mouse-position-mod to mouse-position-alt, ensuring reliable modifier tracking. Leveraging skills in Clojure, UI/UX design, and front end development, the developer delivered a targeted bug fix that improved design tool parity.
