Orbea focused on improving the reliability of emulator package installations in the winterheart/gentoo repository by addressing a bug in the bsnes-jg installation workflow. Using Shell scripting and build system expertise, Orbea developed and validated a patch that ensures .bml example data files are correctly copied when the USE=example flag is enabled. This change aligned the ebuild behavior with Gentoo conventions, reducing installation failures and improving reproducibility across user environments. The work included thorough testing of various USE flag scenarios and produced clear, maintainable documentation in the commit history, supporting future maintenance and smoother onboarding for new users.
