Worked on the capsoftware/cap repository to enhance the stability and usability of Windows Direct3D screen capture functionality. Addressed a critical reliability issue by restructuring the capture process to create GraphicsCaptureItem on the capture thread, resolving COM threading conflicts and improving error handling and logging. Shared the Direct3D device with the encoder to prevent device mismatches, further increasing capture robustness. Additionally, refined the Camera UI by reducing its initial window size to 200x200 pixels, making the interface less distracting for new users. Utilized C++ and Rust, applying expertise in COM, concurrency, Windows API, and desktop application development throughout the project.
