During October 2024, Palonsor worked on the NVIDIA/doca-sosreport repository, focusing on enhancing OpenShift data collection for clusters running version 4.16 and above. By updating the OpenShift SOS plugin to require the openshift-kubelet component, Palonsor ensured compatibility with newer OpenShift installations and streamlined the data gathering process. This engineering effort, implemented in Python and leveraging system administration and debugging skills, reduced the need for manual workarounds and improved the reliability of SOS reporting. The work demonstrated a targeted approach to maintaining up-to-date infrastructure tooling, addressing evolving platform requirements with a clear, maintainable solution for OpenShift environments.
