Worked on the cdce8p/ha-core repository to enhance reliability for bridged Matter devices by developing a feature that propagates availability from parent to child devices. Leveraged Python for backend development, subscribing to the parent device’s Reachable attribute and updating the child’s availability state in real time. This approach improved device status accuracy and addressed issue #169983 by ensuring that changes in parent reachability are immediately reflected in child devices. Focused on unit testing to validate the new propagation logic, the work contributed to a more trustworthy user experience by aligning device availability reporting with actual network conditions and system expectations.
