During June 2025, Daniel Piecha focused on improving configuration clarity and documentation alignment for the SMT100 sensor across the esphome and esphome-docs repositories. He refactored the sensor’s configuration by renaming the dielectric_constant parameter to permittivity, ensuring consistent terminology in both code and documentation. This work involved updates in C++ and Python, as well as adjustments to YAML configuration schemas and Rst documentation files. By harmonizing terminology and refining documentation, Daniel reduced user confusion and potential misconfigurations, laying the groundwork for smoother future enhancements. His efforts demonstrated strengths in configuration management, embedded systems, and cross-repository documentation practices.
