Worked on the winterheart/gentoo repository to deliver a stable upgrade of the Icinga2 monitoring package, moving from version 2.14.2 to 2.14.3. Focused on package management using Shell scripting, the work involved updating the distribution file hash and renaming the ebuild to accurately reflect the new version, ensuring users receive the latest stable release. This approach maintained alignment with Gentoo’s standards for versioning and hash verification, supporting reproducibility and maintainability. By keeping core monitoring tooling current, the upgrade improved both stability and security for users, while reducing friction during updates and supporting a reliable, auditable deployment process.
