Worked on the Mole repository to enhance the reliability and performance of directory scanning in large monorepos. Addressed a critical issue where nested directory scans could hang indefinitely by implementing time budget enforcement and deadline checks within the scanning loop. This approach ensured that scans would terminate predictably, even in deeply nested structures. The solution involved removing obsolete control logic and simplifying the codebase, reducing the risk of missed deadlines. Utilized Bash scripting and automation skills to deliver a comprehensive fix for incident #1053, focusing on robust testing to validate predictable scan runtimes and improve artifact scanning for complex projects.
