Worked on the microsoft/semantic-kernel repository to enhance text search capabilities within Agent mode, focusing on improving search precision and decision quality in automated workflows. Delivered a targeted .NET feature by adding a Filter property to TextSearchProviderOptions and integrating it with GetTextSearchResultsAsync, enabling more relevant and accurate text search results. The implementation involved careful API design and unit testing in C#, ensuring clean integration with the existing TextSearchProvider while maintaining backward compatibility. This work reduced noise in search outputs, improved automation reliability, and aligned with performance goals, laying a solid foundation for future search-driven enhancements within the codebase.
