Developed a managed connection pooling feature for PostgreSQL in Cloud SQL (Enterprise Plus) within the GoogleCloudPlatform/cloud-foundation-fabric repository, focusing on enhancing database performance and resource efficiency for enterprise workloads. Leveraged Terraform and HCL to update the module, exposing new variables and resource configurations that allow users to enable and customize connection pooling. This work addressed connection overhead by efficiently managing pooled connections, reducing churn during peak usage and optimizing throughput. The implementation centered on Cloud SQL and PostgreSQL, with an emphasis on database management best practices, resulting in improved scalability and resource utilization for organizations deploying cloud-based database solutions.
