Worked on enhancing the reliability of the prometheus/snmp_exporter project by addressing a critical issue in the build system related to MIB extraction for Sophos XG devices. Focused on correcting the extraction flow to ensure the exporter used the proper .mib file rather than an incorrect .txt file, which improved the accuracy of metric collection and reduced the risk of misconfiguration. Utilized Makefile scripting to align the build process with the correct file handling, demonstrating attention to detail in build systems and automation. This targeted bug fix contributed to more dependable monitoring and data integrity for Sophos XG environments.
