Worked on the DEFRA/epr-payment-service repository to develop and integrate a queue-based registration submission process using Azure Service Bus and C#. The approach involved creating a new RegistrationSubmissionData entity, updating the DbContext, and implementing repository, service, and controller layers to support asynchronous messaging. Enhanced observability was achieved through Serilog and Application Insights, while Docker Compose and Service Bus emulators enabled robust local and CI testing. Comprehensive logging and improved unit test coverage were added to the workflow. After deployment, a controlled rollback was executed to restore system stability, reverting messaging-related changes and maintaining performance for registration submissions.
June 2026 monthly summary for DEFRA/epr-payment-service focused on exploring asynchronous submission processing via Azure Service Bus, with a strong emphasis on observability and deployment readiness. The work included delivering a new queue-based path for registration submissions, followed by a rollback to restore system stability.
