Worked on resilience improvements for the GCS Connector in the Aiven-Open/cloud-storage-connectors-for-apache-kafka repository, focusing on enabling resumable uploads to Google Cloud Storage via Kafka Connect. Addressed out-of-memory issues during large data transfers by implementing pause and resume capabilities, which improved memory management and reduced garbage collection pressure. Utilized Java and Apache Kafka to deliver a feature that allows more reliable and scalable ingestion of large payloads into cloud storage. Collaborated cross-functionally through co-authored pull requests and maintained clear issue linkage, ensuring the changes are maintainable and aligned with future development needs in cloud storage integration workflows.
