During June 2025, Ryan Smith focused on backend development and data handling within the electricitymaps-contrib repository, addressing a critical issue with geographical coordinate processing. He identified and corrected a bug where longitude and latitude values were reversed, which had the potential to cause inaccuracies in location-based features and downstream analytics. Using Python, Ryan implemented a targeted fix that improved the reliability of data integrity for geographical information. His work involved careful code review and testing to ensure the robustness of the solution. Although no new features were released, this effort enhanced the foundation for accurate data-driven functionality in the project.
