During February 2026, Schongloo developed native Blue/Green deployment support for Flink applications on Kubernetes within the apache/flink-web repository. Leveraging DevOps practices and Kubernetes expertise, Schongloo implemented deployment workflows that enable zero-downtime upgrades and state preservation, addressing operational reliability and production-readiness requirements. The solution integrated with the Flink Kubernetes Operator, aligning with version 1.14.0 and its release workflow. Schongloo focused on robust documentation using Markdown to ensure clarity for future maintainers. This work improved deployment reliability and rollback safety for Flink applications, demonstrating depth in Kubernetes orchestration and deployment automation, though the scope was limited to a single feature.
