During May 2025, Schuhu updated the Istio CRD catalog in the IFTTT/CRDs-catalog repository to support newer Istio versions. The work involved revising the CRD schema and structure using YAML to ensure compatibility with the latest Istio features, allowing downstream services to adopt new versions with minimal migration effort. Schuhu applied expertise in Kubernetes and custom resource definitions (CRDs) to centralize and document these changes, improving maintainability and traceability. The updates addressed evolving platform requirements and streamlined the upgrade process for dependent teams. This focused contribution demonstrated depth in managing Kubernetes resources and aligning infrastructure with upstream project changes.
