Worked on updating the Istio CRD catalog in the IFTTT/CRDs-catalog repository to support newer Istio versions, focusing on aligning the CRD schema and structure with the latest upstream changes. Used YAML to define and modify custom resource definitions, ensuring compatibility with recent Istio releases and enabling downstream services to adopt new features with minimal migration effort. Leveraged skills in Kubernetes and Istio to centralize changes, improving maintainability and traceability by linking updates to specific change IDs. The work addressed schema evolution challenges and streamlined the process for teams integrating with evolving Istio APIs, enhancing catalog reliability and future readiness.
