Over a two-month period, Setie enhanced repository governance for Apache Maven projects by implementing branch protection and automated branch cleanup in apache/maven-parent, apache/maven-resolver, and apache/maven-mvnd. Using YAML for configuration and leveraging skills in CI/CD and repository management, Setie enforced master branch protection and enabled automatic deletion of merged branches, reducing manual maintenance and improving repository hygiene. These changes standardized governance practices, strengthened code integrity, and streamlined pull request workflows. The work focused on configuration rather than code, with no bug fixes, and demonstrated a methodical approach to improving security, collaboration, and workflow efficiency across multiple repositories.
