In May 2026, the team delivered the vSphere Terraform provider Release 2.16.0 with VM and networking enhancements, and accompanying documentation updates. Release hygiene improvements were implemented to ensure clean state and accurate versioning, including excluding generated files from tracking and proper release tagging. The release was coordinated with the 2.16.0 tag and focused on improving automation capabilities for customers while maintaining strong release engineering discipline.

July 2025 focused on delivering essential API surface for cluster configuration management in GovVMomi, alongside reliability improvements for API usage and developer experience. The work enables programmatic management of ESXi cluster enablement, configuration, and configuration drafts; adds visibility through task and schema APIs; and strengthens client correctness and documentation, driving faster automation, safer deployments, and clearer integration points with vSphere environments.
