Worked on the ClickBench repository to enhance compatibility with DuckDB 0.3.0, focusing on the analytics workload’s reliability and maintainability. Addressed a key bug by refactoring the CREATE VIEW hits statement, introducing explicit casting for each column read from hits.parquet to align with updated DuckDB standards. This SQL refactor improved data type handling and reduced runtime errors, ensuring smoother future updates. Leveraged skills in data engineering, database management, and SQL to update the create.sql workflow, with all changes traceable through committed updates. The work contributed to more robust analytics processing and positioned the project for ongoing compatibility with DuckDB.
