Worked on the rackerlabs/genestack repository to enhance telemetry and billing metrics for floating IPs, focusing on improving the accuracy and analytics of usage-based billing. Developed a feature that added resource ID, IP address, and event type attributes to floating IP events, standardizing data collection across creation, deletion, and update lifecycle events. Utilized YAML for configuration and leveraged skills in cloud infrastructure, Helm charts, and monitoring to implement these changes. The work enabled more precise billing and better analytics by ensuring that floating IP usage events are consistently tracked and categorized, supporting improved operational insight for cloud billing systems.
