Developed cross-development support for MIPS architecture in the Homebrew/homebrew-core repository by introducing the mipsel-linux-gnu-binutils formula version 2.46.0. This work involved implementing build automation enhancements and integrating the Linux zlib-ng-compat dependency to streamline the setup process for developers targeting MIPS on both macOS and Linux platforms. A validation test block was added to ensure reliable installation and behavior, contributing to improved code quality and tooling reliability. Collaboration with other contributors ensured robust integration of the new formula. The project leveraged Ruby for formula development and focused on cross-platform development and package management best practices.
