April 2026 — Mike Harder’s changes to mikeharder/azure-rest-api-specs focused on delivering an automated ARM leases validation workflow and tightening release governance. The ARM Leases Workflow Automation adds a GitHub Action to validate ARM leases, detect new Resource Provider Namespaces, validate lease content, updates documentation, and enables incremental TSP changes with auto-signoff logic for ARM changes when notReadyForARMReview is not present. The work also included stabilization of the workflow and documentation across reviews, improving consistency and review efficiency.

December 2025 Highlights for Azure/azure-rest-api-specs: Delivered Enhanced OpenAPI Validation with Updated Rulesets. Upgraded @microsoft.azure/openapi-validator-rulesets from 2.1.10 to 2.2.0 to improve validation coverage and ensure alignment with the latest OpenAPI specifications (commit edc6c7e0a4559fcfbe440b125d3faf9c2de2272e, PR #39319). No major bugs fixed in this period. Impact: stronger API contract quality, earlier detection of specification drift, and smoother client interoperability. Technologies demonstrated: OpenAPI validation tooling, dependency management, versioned rulesets, and Git-based change management within Azure REST specs workflows.
