During February 2025, TG Bugs focused on ontology engineering within the obophenotype/uberon repository, addressing a critical misclassification in anatomical data. By removing an incorrect is_a relationship for the thoracic dorsal root ganglion, TG Bugs corrected a subclassing error that previously led to misannotations in phenotype mappings. This targeted fix, implemented using OBO and grounded in biological expertise, improved the accuracy of anatomical queries and enhanced overall data quality across the ontology. The change was carefully scoped to a single axiom, facilitating future audits and rollbacks, and demonstrated a precise, detail-oriented approach to maintaining ontology integrity and reliability.
