Worked on the apple/foundationdb repository to enhance system reliability by addressing a critical stability issue in RocksDB integration. Focused on C++ development and database management, the work involved fixing a crash related to the lifecycle of RocksDB’s ColumnFamilyHandle. By ensuring that handles were set to nullptr after destruction, the solution prevented invalid handle usage and reduced the risk of runtime errors. The approach emphasized robust error handling and careful resource management, with clear traceability maintained through detailed commit documentation. No user-facing features were delivered during this period, as the primary goal was to improve backend stability and safety.
