During November 2024, Sebastian Vogelbecker expanded device compatibility for the evcc-io/evcc repository by developing Modbus YAML templates to support BGEtech DS100 and WS100 devices. He focused on embedded systems and hardware integration, enabling seamless reporting of power, energy, current, and voltage across grid, PV, and charging scenarios. His approach leveraged YAML to define device-specific registers and decoding types, simplifying onboarding and integration for new hardware families. While the work addressed only one feature and did not involve bug fixes, it demonstrated depth in IoT device configuration and contributed to more flexible and maintainable hardware support within the project.
