During March 2025, ypid developed the K9s Vector.dev Debug Plugin for the derailed/k9s repository, focusing on enhancing real-time debugging workflows within Kubernetes environments. The plugin enables users to access vector.top data directly inside a target container, supporting both pods and containers through a YAML-based configuration. ypid implemented hotkey integration for quick access and documented the feature in the project’s README to streamline onboarding. Leveraging skills in CLI tools and Kubernetes, ypid’s work provided a targeted solution for accessing Vector.dev metrics, demonstrating depth in both technical implementation and user experience, while laying groundwork for future extensibility and maintainability.
