During May 2026, contributed to the elementary/music repository by developing the Playlists feature, enabling users to create and manage playlists within the Music application. This work focused on enhancing user organization and discovery of music, addressing both functionality and reliability. Leveraging Vala, GTK, and GStreamer, implemented playlist creation while resolving lint errors and addressing an uncaught error during playlist saving to ensure a stable workflow. Improved the Save Playlist dialog by introducing file filtering, preventing incorrect saves and reducing potential support issues. These changes collectively improved the user experience and reliability of playlist management, supporting increased engagement with the application.
