During June 2025, Zoomy01 developed battery control functionality for Varta Element Backup Devices within the evcc-io/evcc repository. This work focused on device integration and embedded systems configuration, introducing new YAML-based parameters for watchdog and maximum discharge power. Zoomy01 enhanced the rendering logic to support multiple battery modes, such as normal and hold, and updated both documentation and requirements to clarify parameter semantics and control flow. Although no bugs were fixed during this period, the feature improved reliability and energy management for backup deployments, demonstrating a focused and technically sound approach to extending battery management capabilities for Varta devices.
