In May 2025, Alesa Quintas contributed Galician language translations to the jellyfin/jellyfin repository, enhancing accessibility for Galician-speaking users. Working through the Weblate platform, Alesa applied localization and translation skills to deliver a complete set of Galician translations for the Jellyfin core, supporting the project’s broader localization strategy. The work involved careful adaptation of user interface elements and terminology to ensure cultural and linguistic accuracy. By focusing on open source contribution and leveraging JavaScript, Alesa expanded the software’s reach and usability in new regions. The depth of the contribution reflects a thorough understanding of end-to-end localization workflows in OSS projects.
