Worked on the umap-project/umap repository to enhance authentication reliability by updating OAuth backends to support the latest social-auth-core versions. Focused on backend development using Django and Python, the work involved aligning BitbucketOAuth and OpenStreetMapOAuth integrations with new deprecation requirements, ensuring forward compatibility and reducing the risk of login disruptions. By addressing these updates in local configuration files, the changes improved the user login experience and minimized potential support issues. This effort not only strengthened the security posture of the authentication system but also paved the way for smoother future dependency upgrades within the project’s backend infrastructure.
