Worked on the ISSUIUC/ISS-PCB repository to advance hardware design for the Motor-MK1 board, focusing on power delivery and integration reliability. Over two months, contributed new schematic designs in Kicad Schematic, including a 5V-to-3.3V power regulation circuit and refinements to resistor and capacitor values to improve power integrity. Developed and integrated a dedicated POWER_MUX symbol into the symbol library, updating the sym-lib-table and main board binaries to support hardware power multiplexing. This work enhanced modularity, maintainability, and production readiness, leveraging skills in hardware and PCB design to align the board’s architecture with evolving motor control requirements.
Month: 2024-12 monthly summary focusing on key accomplishments for the ISS-PCB project. Delivered hardware power multiplexing support for Motor-MK1 by integrating the dedicated POWER_MUX symbol into the symbol library, registering it in the sym-lib-table, and applying the necessary binary changes to the main board and power schematic to enable hardware power multiplexing. This work underpins reliable power management, modular design, and faster production ramp, aligning with roadmap goals and reducing integration risk.
