During their two-month contribution to the spruceUI/spruceOS repository, Gerszulc focused on enhancing network configuration automation and documentation. They implemented hidden network support in multipass configuration, updating both configuration files and the wpa_watchdog shell script to accurately propagate hidden SSID status, which streamlined device onboarding and reduced manual troubleshooting. Gerszulc also addressed quoting issues in shell scripting to prevent parsing errors, ensuring robust handling of network parameters. In December, they improved developer experience by expanding documentation for the HIDDEN parameter, clarifying configuration semantics and reducing misconfiguration risks. Their work demonstrated proficiency in shell scripting, configuration management, and technical documentation.
