Worked on spruceUI/spruceOS to enhance data integrity within the user favorites system, focusing on preventing duplicate entries in favourite.json. Addressed a bug by updating both the JSON data structure and the supporting shell script, checkfaves.sh, to enforce uniqueness of favorite labels. The solution involved conditionally appending the emulator folder name to labels when necessary, ensuring each entry remained distinct and reducing the risk of data corruption. Utilized skills in data manipulation and scripting, specifically working with JSON and Shell, to deliver a precise, traceable fix. The work demonstrated careful attention to reliability and maintainability in user-facing data workflows.
