Worked on the PURPL-Purdue/Turbopump repository to deliver a rotor subassembly redesign focused on turbopump shaft components. The approach consolidated the rotor shaft, bearing elements, and introduced a modular face shaft split, aiming to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability. Using CAD modeling and mechanical design skills, the developer created part files and assemblies that reduced assembly time and simplified maintenance procedures. All changes were managed through disciplined, Git-driven workflows, ensuring traceability and streamlined integration. The modular design established clearer interfaces between shaft components, supporting future upgrades and enhancing field-service efficiency, while demonstrating a strong foundation in engineering and assembly design.
