Worked on the rapid7/metasploit-framework repository to enhance upgrade readiness for Rails 7.1 by implementing targeted improvements in CI/CD workflows and database migration processes. Leveraged Ruby and YAML to adjust workflows for longer-running jobs, introduced health checks, and reduced log verbosity, thereby improving system observability and stability. Refactored database migrations to align with updated Rails standards and enabled ActiveRecord connection pooling, which increased concurrency and startup reliability. Focused on minimizing upgrade risk and runtime overhead, these changes established a more robust foundation for future Rails upgrades and enabled faster development iterations, reflecting a strong emphasis on DevOps and workflow automation.
